Proselytizing is banned and carries a three year jail penalty, but no one thus far has been prosecuted. Most persecution comes from militant Hindus who aim to drive all Christians from the country. Despite this, Nepal's church has grown. Some estimate there are 500,000 Christians in 3,000 or more congregations. For more information on this country, visit The Voice of the Martyrs web site.
